§ 01 · The liability
The kit left the building. The liability didn't.
Under UK GDPR, you remain the Data Controller for every byte on hardware that has left your premises. If a drive surfaces later, the fine lands on you — not the courier, not the broker, not the recycler.

§ 03 · Value recovery
Paid both ways.
10+ units, under 5 years old — collection is free, and we rebate you a share of what they make.
Most of what leaves an office at refresh is under five years old — which means it resells. Zeroed grades it, remarkets it, and rebates you a share of the net proceeds.
Disposal stops being a line-item cost and becomes a credit. The same collection that closes your GDPR and WEEE exposure puts money back on your ledger.

Asked, answered.
What is WEEE, and why should I care?
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013. In short: business electronics cannot go in general waste, and the business that generated them keeps a legal duty of care until treatment is demonstrably handled. Our downstream report is that demonstration — it records what was resold and what was recycled, with weights.
Do we keep compliance paperwork?
Yes. You receive a certificate of data destruction listing every serial with method and result, plus a downstream report for WEEE. Keep both on file — they are your evidence to auditors, insurers, and the ICO.
What happens to drives that fail wiping?
They are physically destroyed, and recorded as destroyed against the serial on your certificate. A drive that fails verification never re-enters the resale channel. No exceptions.
Can our MSP's name go on the certificate?
Yes. We work white-label with MSPs: your name on the certificate, collections run around your refresh schedule, and the rebate passed through you to your client.
What about kit with no resale value?
We still take it. Non-reusable kit is recycled through documented downstream partners and quoted per pallet before collection. It appears in your downstream report with weights, so your duty of care still closes.
Where do you operate?
We are based in Cambridge and collect across Cambridgeshire and the East of England. For insolvency clearances, ask — deadlines change things.
